The technology is coming that will implant tracking electronics in clothing, bracelets, etc. While you wait, quit watching TV news until you lose the fear your kid will be harmed if you don't know exactly where it is. Would you submit to a digital recording device tracking your every move for the sake of your safety? If so, get the whole family implanted so you and your parents and mate can always know where any of you are. It's not a pretty picture to most of us. They do have a device that is worn around the neck or as a bracelet that allows police to find people. It's primarily designed for alzheimers patients who tend to wonder off. Using new technology they can actually embed a small chip about 1 inch by 1 inch by 1 mm just above the ear, just under the surface of the skin. I've actually been using one for 6 months on my 16 yr. old son (he doesn't even know about it!). KPS actually sends you a home kit to install the chips on your kids while they are asleep, and its painless so they don't wake up. They run about 100 bucks a pop with a 10/mo. service fee. Plus, changing the battery, will be a big problem. You probably read about RFID tags. Those are used now to ID animals, in case they are lost, but they can't transmit information on where they are.
