Welcome back to Budget Gadget reviews. Today we will be reviewing the Classic Microphone. With a price of $4.46, you can’t go wrong with this microphone.
A quick overview of what this review series is about. We will be reviewing different products from time to time from the website Budget gadgets. The types of products we will be reviewing range from USB gadgets to novelty lighters, and lasers to cycle accessories. You would struggle to visit Budget Gadgets and not see something you’re interested in.
This product has a very professional look and feel about it. It has been designed to look like the Brauner Phantom Classic Basic Large Diaphragm Cardioid FET Microphone. Even if you don’t use this microphone, it looks good on your shelf. It’s a good addition to my film making collection.
The recording quality of this product isn’t as good as the flexible microphone which I previously reviewed. However the recording quality isn’t too bad either. You will be able to see some tests that I made in the YouTube video below this post. The test results proved you can stand about 7ft away from the microphone before the recording starts to go quiet. Here is a list of the features to this microphone -
■Outstanding transparency and natural sound reproduction
■An extended 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response
■Flat response curve for accurate reproduction of sound sources
■Low noise and high output clipping level
■Cardioid polar pattern
■Low RF susceptibility
■1.5m noise filtering cable
A disadvantage to this microphone is that the actual microphone itself is covered up by a plastic casing. This does compromise the recording quality a little, as it picks up quite a lot of background noise. Which isn’t good when recording voice overs? The best aspect to this microphone is the 1.5 meter cable. This is good for when you have your audio-in outputs around the back of your computer or desktop, the cables will be able to reach without stretching. The cable is also efficient because you can stand up and use it like a reporter’s microphone.
This microphone can be used for home recording, or it can be used as an internet phone, on Skype. So you are not limited to what you can do with this product. That’s why I gave this microphone from Budget Gadgets a 8 out of 10.

What is the best job for me if I like and am good with various gadgets and electronics?
I was wondering what was the highest paying or most interesting job that involves making or designing electronics and gadgets. I’m 16 and want to get an idea of a future career.
You could become some kind of engineer. Engineers generally get paid quite well and there is a lot of room for progression. Good luck!

In this special gadgetS issue, we show you how to make a menagerie of delightful machines: a miniature electronic Whac-a-Mole arcade game, a tiny but mighty see-through audio amplifier, a magic mirror that contains an interactive animated soothsayer, a self-balancing one-wheeled Gyrocar, and the Most Useless Machine — the creepy mechanical box whose only purpose is to turn itself off (as seen on The Colbert Report!). Plus: how Intellectual Ventures made their incredible laser targeting mosquito zapper, how to use the industrial-strength microcontrollers called PLCs, and a lot more.
