I am looking for an implantable gps device I can put inside of my child.
What is a good product? Where can I get one? How much does it cost?
I am finding a lot of articles on the net about a product like this, but im not finding anything about a specific product that can be purchased.
I don’t think it will be very safe to implant a whole GPS transmitter in your body, especially a kid. Plus, changing the battery, will be a big problem.
You probably read about RFID tags. Those are used now to ID animals, in case they are lost, but they can’t transmit information on where they are. Those are safe and a few brave adults implant them as well.
I have been looking around for a full size home sound system, but all there is out there is mini systems and home theather audio. I cannot find any multi component systems with the 4 feet tall speakers and the rack stand w/ glass doors. Does anybody know if they still make them?
They are still made. You have to go to a custom shop to get anything with real power anymore.
I have a 5 minute speech to prepare for my classes and the topic I chose is "Gadgets". Basically I want to write about gadgets(for example like any new cell phones, the wireless technology like WiFi or Wimax, portable media players, etc.) and how they are useful in our day to day lives, be it for entertainment purposes. So I need some information for writing my speech.
Thanks in advance people.
Wired.com has some great links/articles about gadgetry.
What are the NEW and COOL gadgets that will be released or that is released in 2008 or upcoming years?
On Friday, Oct. 24th, Oprah had her newest favorite gadget! It is a dedicated electronic reader called "The Kindle". You can see one at Amazon.com. This reader can download a book in a minute or less and also can play music and has WiFi capabilities if you are in a Sprint Whispernet area. I was so impressed by the design and functions of the "The Kindle" that I ordered one that very day and should be getting it this Thursday. I read a lot and books are so expensive. Amazon.com currently has just over 190,000 books available to down load (and added more daily) for usually less than half the price of either a hardback or paperback book. "The Kindle" can also download newspapers and magazines (minus adds and some syndicated publishings) for much less than you pay at the newsstands. I searched everything I could find about "The Kindle" before ordering mine and I found very few people who didn’t like theirs. Even my husband got excited over this new gadget. Never thought I would like to even think about reading something without actually feeling the paper and smelling the ink just as Oprah said she didn’t think she would either, but I am willing to give it a thorough testing because it will pay for itself rapidly! This device was marketed at $399.00, but Amazon has it on sale for $359.00 (sorry folks, Friday was the only day for Oprah’s $50.00 discount). There are no additional monthly costs other than the books you buy. You can also download books to your computer if you do not get the Sprint Whispernet in your area, which is what I will have to do. However, if I step just a half-hour drive outside my hometown, I could download as many books as I want without my computer. I go out of town a lot so it shouldn’t be a problem for me. You can own up to six ‘Kindles’ per account and share the books among your family. If you loose you Kindle or something happens to a book, Amazon keeps a copy of each and every item you have download and you can download it again for free. Cool, I think! You can change the font size of your text from very small to very large. The screen is made with "E-ink" and unlike plasma or LCD, you can easily see the text while outside, but if you read in bed at night as I do, you will need a lamp or booklight which is no problem to clip on just as an ordinary book. I could tell you more, but you really should check this out, particularly if you are an avid reader, on the go a lot, or even if you just want to share this with a friend. You can also put it in a ziplock bag and take it to the beach or read in the bathtub (which I love to do!). Hope this helped.
In the state of california is it legal to have a gps device or a radar detector attached to your windshield with suction cups? I over heard sombody saying that you cannot have anything mounted on the inside of your windshield, is this true?
Yes it is simply because of the vision question. A cop won’t pull you over for it, but if you’re being pulled over for something else, it will be added to the ticket.
CA cops are using lasers now instead of radar. A detector is about as useful as hip pockets on a lizard. By the time you know he’s there, he’s got your speed. I know from experience.
I have a boat and currently there is a receiver( similar to a car receiver) connected to 4 speakers. the receiver is connected to a rectangle could just be how recievers are done or it could be an amplifier I have no idea. The first two speakers are within 5 feet of the receiver and the other two speakers are at the back of the boat approximately 15-20 feet away. The speakers in the front are loud and clear while the speakers in the back are less loud and less clear. How can I either make the sound equal amongst the speakers or more powerful in the rear speakers?
you might need to add a small amp to help power the rear speakers. I found package that includes two speakers amp and a place to connect a mp3 player for $150
There are other speakers, headunits and amps also listed and all are marine grade.
